Punjab Special Education Department Jobs 2023 for Teachers and Educators

The Special Education Department operates under the government of Punjab, Pakistan, with the specific mission of meeting the educational needs of disabled children, particularly those with hearing impairments, visual impairments, mental disabilities, and physical challenges.

The Directorate of Special Education Punjab was initially established as a part of the Education Department in 1983-84. However, in 2003-04, it underwent a transformation into an independent administrative department. This shift has resulted in a significant expansion of services. Prior to becoming an independent department, there were 51 institutions in the province with a total enrollment of 4,265 students. Since then, the number of institutions has grown to 248, serving nearly 28,850 special-needs children. This figure includes 20 institutions for special education that were transferred from the Federal Government following the 18th Constitutional Amendment. Importantly, special education facilities are now accessible at the Tehsil and Town levels across the province.
